  gnomes70 → MattWales: Thank you for the welcome.  I buy their music for myself and my friends.  They got over being surprised receiving music from me, but they are always pleased.  My wife tells everybody that I never lie.  My old boss from the computer company where I...  moreThank you for the welcome.  I buy their music for myself and my friends.  They got over being surprised receiving music from me, but they are always pleased.  My wife tells everybody that I never lie.  My old boss from the computer company where I retired, told his father that I was the only honest man that he had ever met.  I can lie but I choose not to.  Having said that, I believe that Gillian Welch and David Rawlings were as big a surprise to me as was OCMS.  Everybody knows and acknowledges that David Rawlings is an incredible guitar player.  I don't believe that most people realize the incredible guitar playing of Gillian Welch.  The girl takes my breath away.  When she plays rhythm, she puts drummers out of work.  I've seen her on a stage full of performers, all playing together and she keeps everybody on time when she plays rhythm.  Her style is so subtle (look it up in the dictionary) that if you're not paying attention, it's very easy to miss it.  It's like somebody performing magic.  You know it's incredible but you don't know how it was done and it's too much to think about so you simply walk away astounded at what you just saw or in her case, heard.  I lack the words to describe what they do to me when they perform.  I've waited a long time for them and now they're here.  They're home.  I feel a great comfort knowing that they are on the earth at the same time that I am.  I feel grateful.  At 70 years old, I finally feel blessed about something other than my wife.  My wife is not just the best woman I've ever met; she's the best anything I've ever met.  To Gillian and David, I say, Welcome Aboard.  Be kind to each other.  Believe me.  It helps everybody.  Be chilly.   less
